Army Chief General Manoj Mukand Narwane has reached Nepal. He made a three-day tour of Nepal, General Purna Chandra Thapa. Arrived in Nepal, General Narwane was greeted by Nepalese military officials. This is the chief minister’s first visit to Nepal after the border dispute. On Thursday, General Narwane will first pay tribute to the brave soldiers of Nepal at the Veer Memorial. The guard of honor will be handed over to the head of the Indian army of the Nepalese army. General Narwane will have a meeting with the head of the Nepalese army in the morning.
General Narwane will donate medicine and medical supplies to Nepal from India. In the afternoon, the President of Nepal, Vidya Devi Bhandari, will confer the honorary rank of General of the Nepalese Army on the Chief of the Army. Such a tradition has existed since 1950. In this, India also gives the honorary rank of general of the Indian army to the head of the Nepalese army.
The visit of the chief of the army counts a lot because lately there were a lot of bitter relations between Nepal and India. The case was caught up when Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the road from Lipulekh to Dharchula in Uttarakhand on May 8. Then Nepal described Lipulekh as its territory.
After that, Nepal said many parts of Uttarakhand are in Nepal thanks to a disputed new political map. At that time, Army Chief General Narwane said Nepal was opposing India at someone else’s request. Nepal was very angry with this. The visit of the army chief is expected to melt some of the snow between the two countries.
