Chicago: COVID-19 cases continue to increase in the city, Chicago has issued a stay-at-home advisory encouraging residents to stay at home and leave only for school, work, or other essential needs.
Beginning on Monday, the order includes medical grocery shopping and finding essential foods, and extends to the Thanksgiving feast.
CNN urges residents not to leave guests at home for essential workers, even family and close friends.
Mayor Lori said, “Chicago has reached an important point in the second surge in Corona 19, and has called for us to make a multi-faceted and comprehensive effort to stop the virus’s pathway.”
This recommendation, which will be maintained for 30 days, also places limits on face-to-face meetings and social events, limiting it to 10 people, both inside and outside.
According to the city’s COVID-19 dashboard, Chicago has a total of 122,712 cases since the onset of the pandemic, and the most recent 7-day positive rate is now 14.1%. Hospitalizations and deaths continue to hit record highs as hospitalizations and deaths accelerate and record alarming rates.
As the holiday season approaches, this number will continue to grow, providing incentives for people to gather, health experts said.
