Donald Trump plans to sign bill, Chinese companies say, White House

The bill was passed by the Senate earlier this year.

Washington:

The White House said on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump hoped to sign a bill that could prevent some Chinese companies from listing their shares on US stock exchanges.

The bill, which passed the Senate earlier this year and approved by the House of Representatives on Wednesday, could hit companies such as Alibaba, tech company Pindduo Inc. and oil giant PetroChina Company Limited.

If enacted, the measure would give US companies listed on the US market to comply with US audit rules before they are withdrawn from US markets.
