Geneva : The Secretary-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) on Monday urged countries not to politicize the hunt for the origins of the novel coronavirus.
WHO Secretary General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a daily briefing: “We need to know the origin of this virus. Because it can help prevent future outbreaks.”
“There is nothing to hide. We want to know the origin. That’s all.”
China’s state-run media said that COVID-19 existed abroad before it was discovered in central China’s Wuhan, citing scientific papers that the coronavirus existed in imported frozen food packaging and spread in Europe in 2019.
