Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez declared a national state on Sunday and covered all of Spain except the Canary Islands to stem the second wave of coronary artery disease cases.
Sanchez said the new state of emergency would last until early May.
“The situation we are going through is extreme,” he said.
Powers came with emergency measures in response to calls from regions to impose curfews to tackle an increase in coronovirus cases, becoming the first European country to record more than one million cases of the virus after the Spain Wednesday.
