The system helps better in a crisis situation.
With the Tesla Powerwall you can power both your home and your Tesla . But what are the priorities during an emergency when there is no power anymore? The Tesla Powerwall has received a smart update for such a situation, says Teslarati .
With this update, the Powerwall knows the priorities during power outages. Charging will slow down with a power failure. The system can even stop charging completely when a certain threshold is reached.
The feature doesn’t work here in Europe yet. The update targets North America and will only work for owners of a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y.
The Powerwall will always prioritize the household over the Tesla Model 3 or Model Y. This keeps the freezer working to keep your cold cuts cold. Other essential matters within the household will also receive electricity. Ultimately, you as a user remain in control. Via the Tesla app you can manually set where the priority of energy should go.
