Washington : U.S. President-elect Joe Biden announced a key member of the foreign policy and national security team before officially entering the White House on Monday (November 23, 2020) on January 20, 2021.
The team led by Joe Biden includes Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security; Avril Haines, Director of State Intelligence; Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US Ambassador to the United Nations; Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor; And John Kerry, climate envoy.
Historic candidates include the first Latino and immigrants as DHS ministers, the first woman to lead the intelligence community, one of the youngest national security advisors in decades, and the first climate special presidential envoy to attend the National Security Council.
President-elect Joe Biden said, “When it comes to national security and foreign policy, we have no time to lose. I should have a team ready on day one to help me regain my place in America and bring the world together. It solves the biggest problems we face and improves security, prosperity and value. ”
